NYSC DG Gives Directives on Dress Codes – The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, on Wednesday, November 15, in Katsina NYSC camp, rolled out dress codes for serving youth corps members.
The Right Kits
He warned that failure to dress appropriately in the NYSC kits may attract embossments and punishments from the management
General Ahmed gave the warning while addressing the 2023 Batch C Stream 1 members deployed to Katsina, who were on their orientation course, further charged them to always dress appropriately in their NYSC kits to avoid embarrassment
Social Media Activities
He said: “I have mandated all the staff of NYSC to watch and monitor the Corps members anywhere they go, and anyone who fails to use the kits appropriately should be made to surrender the uniform’. Also, you must refrain from posting anything about camp activities on social media.’’
The NYSC DG also reminded the Corps members to key into the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program to ensure they can secure their future in the face of youth unemployment in the country
He, however, told them to approach the service year with the spirit of patriotism, loyalty, and commitment by putting Nigeria first before all other things
Night Journeys
In a related development, the NYSC boss has charged Corps members to avoid night journeys; all social vices partake in partisan politics but should adhere strictly to the dress code of the scheme.
The general also recalled the four cardinal principles of the scheme, including the NYSC Act and Bylaws, which contain all that the Corps members needed to know to ensure a successful service year.
Earlier in her brief on the state of the camp, the Katsina State NYSC Coordinator, Hajiya Aisha Muhammad, told the DG that the Corps members were disciplined and very obedient to camp rules and regulations
NYSC DG Gives Directives on Dress Codes – The coordinator further disclosed that the Corps members have been duly registered, kitted, and have sworn to the oath of allegiance, which allows for the smooth running of the orientation course
The DG visited and commissioned the newly built quarter guard as well as examined the quarter guard that the 2023 Batch C stream 1 Corps was using.
